NEETs

If you are a young person aged between 16 and 18, are not currently in employment, education or training and have a learning difficulty, the NEETs (Not in Education, Employment or Training) programme can offer you a free 10 week training and work preparation course to help you decide what to do next.

You can also receive EMA (if you are eligible) through this course.

What is involved?

The course runs for 10 weeks, with 3 hour sessions Monday to Thursday and aims to help you decide whether you want to go into education, employment or training.

Over the course you will develop skills in team building, CV writing and interview skills, you will build your confidence and motivation, develop your communication skills and explore what your future options are.

You will also be offered the opportunity to do an ASDAN qualification alongside the course.

Once you have finished the course you will be fully supported into employment, training or education. People who have completed the course in the past have gone onto do training such as NVQs or have joined one of Jobsteps’ other employment programmes to find employment.
