Jobsteps is delivering the Work Programme on behalf of Serco across South Yorkshire. The Work Programme is a government initiative managed by the Job Centre Plus to help people on Job Seekers Allowance and Employment Support Allowance (or Incapacity Benefit if you have not yet been transferred off this) to find and sustain employment. Jobsteps is a specialist disability provider for the Work Programme. We are able to support people with more needs such as learning disabilities, health conditions, mental health issues or autism spectrum conditions. How does Jobsteps support customers on the Work Programme? If you are referred to Jobsteps for the Work Programme through the Job Centre Plus we will support you with find and applying for jobs. They could be by updating your CV, finding job opportunities, helping you with application forms or supporting you with preparing for an interview. We will also offer training sessions which will aim to help you with your motivation and confidence, help you in sustaining the job you find, learn about your skills and personal qualities, how to search for jobs on the internet and support you over coming barriers you may have to work. As we have specialist knowledge in disabilities we are able to offer advice on managing your condition in the work place and give you additional support with applying for jobs and interviews. How do I access the Work Programme? Speak to your advisor at the job centre for more information on the Work Programme. I am from an external organisation and would like to find out more about Jobsteps’ Work Programme provision.
