In consultation with Dean, our Employment Consultants and his Key Worker it was decided that the Work Preparation course would be a good programme to develop Dean’s employability skills.  The Work Preparation course provides In House training and the subjects we cover include disability awareness, job finding skills, confidence building, vocational choice, self advocacy and CV building.  The In House course that Dean attended was delivered in Doncaster by two Employment Coaches over eight weeks with a small group of just five people.  We offer a person centred approach to all of our programmes and tailor the course to suit each person’s needs.

Dean completed his In House training and is now gaining valuable work experience at his placement at the Riding for the Disabled, which is based at Rossington Hall in Doncaster.  His duties at the placement include caring for the horses, supporting clients who attend sessions, side walking, putting out the games, cleaning tack and any other duties as required.  He is very conscientious, reliable and is a valued member of the team.

Riding for the Disabled at Rossington Hall is a welcoming and friendly work environment with a great team who provide good support for Dean as required.  Dean is enjoying his work and gaining valuable experience in animal care and support work.
